The books have been adapted in to numerous films, television series, radio series and plays.Ģ. They follow young children from our real-world who are transported to Narnia and all the books chronicle the entire history of the land of Narnia. The Chronicles of Narnia is a series of seven fantasy novels set in the fictional land of Narnia. Lewis and academic, working in both Oxford and Cambridge Universities. I've chosen books here that are both well-known and not so to try and show that it isn't only books that have sold millions of copies that can be considered classics.ġ. Personally, I don't think any book that isn't at least 25 years old can be considered a Classic. "Classics" is a word that can be bandied about with no meaning, but in most cases it means books that are exemplary, but sometimes can just mean they have sold a lot of copies. For this 10 for Starters in Children's Classics we are going to be exploring books that have been written with children in mind, but can (and should) be read by everyone of all ages. ![]()
